Blue and silver chainmaille necklace

Lots of people, when asked to think about chainmaille, would think of something hard and heavy and a bit grim. This necklace shows that chainmail jewellery can be the complete opposite of that - it's light and delicate, really pretty and feminine looking.

Made from shiny and anodized aluminium jump rings, faceted glass beads and the most gorgeous Czech glass rings, it's completely hand-assembled; everything from the Aura units (the triangular sections) to the simple mobius patterned chain.

I make it in a selection of lengths because there's nothing worse than finding a lovely design in a shop but discovering it's too short (or long) and what hangs at just the right level on someone else's neck doesn't for you. This design works well as a short (choker-length) necklace or slightly longer.
